(”The Looking Glass House”)Why deep-mirrors? Because mirrors are deep. What lies beneath the reflecting surface? In your face, in your eyes, what do you hide? We are more than what we see in the mirror, much more than the features inherited from ancestors or a smile that betrays nothing. I chose the name out of a fascination with reflections–in mirrors and in the mind. It might also be of interest to note that the sequel to Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland (which of course is one of my favorite books) is titled Through The Looking-Glass; little Alice falls through a mirror into a world where everything is charmingly backwards. There is much in the spirit of Alice and her adventures in this network, as you will now discover in my explanation of…
The Daydream Network So she was considering, in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. (”Chapter One: Down The Rabbit Hole”)Yes, named for the fact that I was the girl who sat through last period history class folding origami and thinking of things other than history. Also named for another Wonderland trivia factoid: Alice was daydreaming her life away on a grassy knoll when the White Rabbit first came hopping into view
