Spirit
Talim is young and optimistic, but also understands the gravity of her quest. She never loses hope, and continually encourages herself to keep going. This makes her very different from many, if not all, of the other characters in the game; everyone else has embarked on a journey to gain something for themselves, whether it be a legendary weapon or a sweet revenge. Talim has set forth only to set things right again, with an innocent and heartfelt desire to bring peace to the world. It is a somewhat quixotic goal, which can be expected from someone so young. But Talim was raised by her people to be a priestess to the wind-- and not just any priestess, but the last priestess. This placed a heavy weight on her shoulders from birth, and yet she never flinches; she simply takes it all in stride, living with her responsibilities and her burdens. This attitude towards life guides Talim through challenges and obstacles.I wouldn't say Talim is overly cheerful and hyper; she simply believes in herself, and motivates herself, to do her very best. She would prefer to have a smile on her face, but she can be strong and fight for that belief as well. Her hope and her faith in herself give her strength and energy. Talim isn't here for vendettas or power or fame or glory. She's here to solve a problem, and she has a real go-getter personality. She sets her goal, and then works toward it. This doesn't mean she is limited to a tunnel-vision perspective where all she sees is her goal and how to barrel through everyone who stands in her way. In fact, you can see that when she fights someone, it seems that she actually cares about her opponent and wants to know their story. Take her dialogue with Necrid, for example. It isn't that she's reluctant to fight him; she seems to want to understand him, and what made him that way. That is definitely not a weak quality. Just as she is in tune with the wind, she is in tune with the people around her. It makes her strong in ways that the others aren't. Talim is driven, but she is not cruel; Talim is kind, but she is no pushover. She can be modest, and credit luck for her victories, but she can also stand up for herself admirably. She strikes me as someone who would rather not fight, but understands that it's something she has to do, something she cannot change. That said, I really do love Talim <3
